APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGER'S PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT FOR NORTH COUNTY TECHNICAL CENTER PHASE III (SCTI) CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
The project's scope of work shall include the construction of three (3) buildings that total approximately 150,000 square feet. The project also consists of renovations to Building 85 and approximately 5,000 square foot of additional new construction adjacent to Building 85. Also included in the project is the completion of all remaining site work, parking lot renovations and the construction of a high school baseball field and high school softball field, ancillary buildings to support the fields and all demolition work required to complete the build out of the entire campus. On 5/31/2011, the Director of Construction Services and a member of the Professional Services Selection Committee (PSSC) met with representatives from Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc. to negotiate a contract for this project. This contract covers the pre-construction portion only for this project. The contract for construction will be negotiated separately at a later date. This contract amount is $129,919.0. These contract documents have been approved by the School Board attorney and are available for review at the Construction Services Department. The construction budget is approximately $40,000,000.00. Funds, in the amount of $40,000,000.00 for this project are available in the capital budget account.
Recommendation
That the construction manager's preconstruction services contract for North County Technical Center Phase III (SCTI) Construction Project be approved as presented.
